The Stanhope Police Department is regularly engaged in educational and community service programs. Our officers are a constant presence in local schools where they administer the G.R.E.A.T. [Gang Resistance, Education and Training] program. Our officers are highly trained; each having graduated from the Police Academy and constantly refresh their skills through educational seminars and workshops.

The Stanhope-Netcong American Legion Ambulance Corps. is comprised of volunteer Emergency Medical Technicians, EMT's, serving the Stanhope and Netcong communities. Members of the Ambulance Corps are very active in our community, volunteering their time and talents to help those in times of emergency as well as visiting our area schools and day care centers to educate our children during EMS week.

Stanhope Hose Company No. 1 was organized in 1905, one year after the Borough's incorporation. The Stanhope Fire Department is manned by approximately 35 fully-trained firefighting volunteers. New members are always welcome!
The Stanhope Fire Department has a Junior Fire Fighting Program for young adults between the ages of 16 and 18. Training and fire fighting gear is provided.
