CAMP LENAPE is a summer camp program sponsored by the Recreation Committees of Byram Township, Stanhope Borough and Netcong Borough along with the Stanhope & Byram Boards of Education. Camp runs for a total of six weeks (Monday - Friday) from July 7th through August 15th. Children may sign up for a week or any combination of weeks. There are full day and half day options available.
The weeks activities are based on a book of the week. Activities include: art, music, science exploration, health and wellness, theater, games and outdoor activities. Trips are planned for every Tuesday and Friday. All activities are presented by certified teachers and age groups are lead by college age counselors.
DISCOUNT: Stanhope Borough residents RECEIVE A $50 DISCOUNT per child for their first week. Registration is open now. You can register by mail or at Stanhope Borough Hall located at 77 Main Street. The Stanhope Recreation Commission and the LV Municipal Alliance are sponsoring "Summer Movies In The Park". The movies will be shown on a large outdoor screen at the Lakeland Little League Field and admission is FREE. The movie will begin at 8:45PM. Don't forget to bring chairs, blankets, bug spray and flashlights. Come early to get a good seat. The snack stand will be open to purchase refreshments. The movies that will be shown are as follows:
Friday, July 25th - Footloose
Friday, August 1st - Young Frankenstein
Friday, August 8th - Shrek The Musical
Join the Stanhope Hose Company #1 and the Stanhope Recreation Commission for a corned beef and cabbage dinner fundraiser. The date is September 6th from 6:00PM - 10:00PM and will be held at the Stanhope Fire House. The cost for the tickets is $20 per person in advance and $25 per person at the door (if tickets are still available). Seating is limited. There will be free beer, soda and water. Children under 10 are free and will be served hot dogs and french fries. Irish music will be provided for your listening pleasure. Tickets are on sale now through September 1st.
