The Shade Tree Commission is charged with maintaining a healthy and safe community forest resource. Good management of our community forest will improve our air and water quality, reduce energy costs, increase property values, improve the health of our residents, and beautifies our Borough. The Shade Tree Commission enforces the Borough's tree removal and tree replacement Ordinances.

Stanhope residents and local groups are invited to help clean-up the trails around the Valley Road School and the Canal Area from the Plaster Mill to the turn-around pond. Dress appropriately for the weather. Water, garbage bags and gloves will be provided. The clean-up is sponsored by the Shade Tree Commission and the Environmental Commission.
